Translating is my childhood dream. Mastering two or more languages has always seemed like some kind of superpower to me, as if I could save the world from ignorance.

I have known that I wanted to be a translator from an early age. Languages have always fascinated me. I have studied English, German and Spanish as major languages and French, Dutch, Russian, and even Icelandic just for the fun of it. I have always liked to communicate through written words, and the combination of both - language skills and the passion for writing - seems to me to be the best job ever. I love what I do.

Translation

I translate literary and marketing texts from English and German into Portuguese; I also do certified translations of notarial documents.

Proofreading

I proofread both translated texts (English and German into Portuguese) and originals in Portuguese.

Transcreation and Localization

I recreate and adapt texts taking into account the idiosyncrasies of the Portuguese language and culture.

Mentoring

I'm a mentor at APTRAD, I support recent graduates as well as established translators who want to enter the literary field (More information here)

Training

I provide training in translation, text revision, and Portuguese language.

Proofreading (Level I, II, III and IV), with Manuel Monteiro, at Escrever Escrever (completed in 2022)
